ABOUT US
ROCA Technical Soccer Training was formed in Waterloo, Ontario in August of 2018 by former Romania youth international Sergiu Anton. Having played soccer for a number of professional teams in Europe and Canada, Sergiu identified a massive gap in technical ability between Canadian youth players and players from around the world. Aiming to close that gap, ROCA Technical Soccer Training was created as a specialized training program dedicated to teaching and perfecting the technical components of a Canadian player's game.

Sergiu Anton's playing experience includes: Toronto F.C. Academy,
SC Braga U17 (Portuguese 1st division), SL Benfica U19 (Portuguese 1st division), CD Nacional Madeira U19 (Portuguese 1st division),
York University Men’s Varsity Team, U18 Romanian National Team (2 Call-Ups), as well as training stints at Celtic F.C. U16 (Scottish League Champions), Ferencvàrosi TC Reserves (Hungarian League Champions), and ACS Poli Timisoara 1st Team (Romanian 1st division).

Initially, ROCA started offering only 1 on 1 and small group training. After just a few months, demand for our training methods grew and lead to the launch of the ROCA Technical Soccer School in December 2018. The soccer school serves the Kitchener-Waterloo-Cambridge area, and is aimed at developing high performance soccer players for the future of Canadian Soccer.
The soccer school was quickly followed by the first ROCA March Break Camp in March 2019, and two more summer camps in July and August 2019. The continued success of these camps led to the expansion into team training, with several teams in Guelph and KW hiring ROCA to deliver technique specific training sessions.
After a successful first year of operation, ROCA has now trained over 100 youth players in the soccer school and private sessions, and over 150 players including team sessions.

Following the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, ROCA announced that it would be relocating to London, England at the end of the year. As Sergiu looks to establish ROCA as a leading supplemental training company in the world, completing the UEFA coaching certifications is a top priority. The tremendous amounts of football opportunities in the UK, and the high level coaching education were both key motivators for the big move.
Having embarked on a new journey in the birthplace of football, ROCA will look to establish its training methodologies and create a community of like minded footballers.
